Bomplenazo Conversatorio: Diaspora communities Claiming and Re(creating) Space through Bomba and Plena
12:00pm to 1:00pm
Please join us for this exciting and timely community conversation about “bomba and plena en accion,” which brings together voices from three key Diasporican cities throughout the Northeast cultural corridor: New York City, Philadelphia, and the DMV. We look forward to hearing from practitioners, culture workers, and folklife perspectives on the topics of place keeping and cultural sustainability via Bomba and Plena in the diaspora over the past four decades. This event offers a more intimate space to share memories, success stories, and best practices around mobilizing traditional culture in service of social change in our communities today.
