Position Available: Members’ Services Coordinator

The Philadelphia Folklore Project seeks a Members’ Services Coordinator to support work with local traditional artists and grassroots cultural workers. The staffperson will be part of a team managing PFP arts education and artist residency programs, and expanded community programming in our new building. Job responsibilities include coordinating a volunteer/member co-op program, and helping to increase donated and earned revenues. The ideal candidate will likely have experience in fieldwork/field research, community organizing, community arts programs, public folklore, and/or social justice campaigns. Training in Folklore, Anthropology, African American or Asian American Studies is useful. The position requires good communication, writing and administrative skills (Macintosh, Filemaker), attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to deal effectively, respectfully, and sensitively with a wide range of people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. The Philadelphia Folklore Project is a 19-year-old public interest folklife agency with a record of programs and services that help local communities sustain significant arts.
